Improve your Putting

Kendra demonstrates an exercise to help you get longer putts closer to the hole hopefully to a tap in distance. Practice this on your putting green before your game and see if you can take some strokes off your score.

Kendra demonstrates an interesting drill to improve your putting. Try it even on your carpet at home and let us know if it improves your putting. Here in Oz replace the quarter with a 10c or $1 coin which is a bit thicker.

Many of us have trouble putting, with nearly half our shots being putts it has a big influence on our scores. With the correct fundamentals we will putt more consistently and build confidence and enjoy our game more. If you find your arms become disconnected with your body in your putting this will lead to pushed or pulled putts. Try Kendras drill to help you stay connected in you putting.

Many people have problems with distance control. Leaving a putt short or running it way past the hole can bring us into 3 putt territory. This video highlights the fundamental technique and a drill to develop the feel for the putts. Of course, on the practice green, you can use an imaginary towel.

This is the first time I have seen this drill to keep your putter head on line when you hit the ball. This is something most amateurs do not do well. Something simple to try when next on the putting green. Try these drills and reduce the number of putts you make and instead of fearing the dreaded 3 putt, feel confident when you make any putt.
