CROSSTM has chosen to use FTX 10000™ a new high-tech waterproof and extremely breathable material. This fabric has proven it´s high outstanding qualities in various tests and by a great number of users.
Tests carried out by independent laboratories, have proven this fact clearly in a number of tests. The chart says it all. It shows the breathability (R.E.T.-value) of the two different FTX10000™ fabrics compared with Gore-Tex ® .
Test method for measuring breathability is the Hohenstein ”skin model” which is the most realistic and best method available. This method is becoming European standard. R.E.T.-value below 60 is considered as extremely breathable.
In terms of waterproofness, FTX 10000™ extremely breathable is able to withstand more than 4.000 mm waterpressure (normal rainwear stands about 1.000 mm). Goretex ® and FTX 10000™ extremely waterproof & breathable withstands more than 15.000 mm waterpressure.
