Susan Lawrence - Golf Fashion

Ever since I started playing golf, I have been looking for well tailored, functionable, comfortable and fashionalbe golf clothing and accessories. Didn' think that they exists did you. That special outfit that you can wear from the golf course, to a luncheon, back to the golf course, to afternoon tea, or a drink at the club..........

Well such fashion wear is pretty hard to come by in Australia. But, seek and ye shall find!! Thanks to one of our readers/audience (we still don't know who you are! please let us know and we would like to thank you personally) we found Susan Lawrence!

We visited her shop about one month ago. It is beautiful shop with well displayed and co-ordinated golf clothing and accessories. There is a nice table in the center of the shop where Susan show off her delighful accessories such as sun-visors and golf pins. They make great gift ideas, that is after you have spent enough on yourself! But, nobody can spend enough on themsleves, will they! Bear that thought when Mother's Day comes around!

Some years ago, Susan initially designed tennis clothing for ladies. She and her husband is in the tennis business, running court hire and coaching tennis. Recently, Susan found that a lot of her tennis ladies have started to play golf instead, so Susan decided to set up a ladies golf clothing and accessories business, called "For Ladies of Golf".

Susan introduces her shop:

Experience and listening to what lady golfers want has helped compile the Susan Lawrence Golf Collection and launched “FOR LADIES OF GOLF”. After 5 years involved with both wholesaling and retailing ladies golfwear Susan Lawrence saw the niche for a reasonably priced Australian label. Designed by ladies for ladies- this 100% Australian made label offers quality, comfort, individual style direct from the manufacturer.

This is a specialised market, where dress regulations play an important part. With more and more ladies taking up the sport, there proved the need for a specific ladies outlet that offered variety and personalised service. Each collection can be worn both on and off the golf course.

“For Ladies of Golf” offers a diverse range of classically designed outfits including:

Well, take it from me, do not miss out on Susan's "For Ladies of Golf". I came out of the shop a size 8 beautiful golf T-shirt, a stunning belt, a reversable sun visor and a diamonte golf pin. Do I feel like a Tiger!!

Now that I am all excited about "For Ladies of Golf", if any one have come across any nice golf fashion and accessories, please introduce them to us and we can promote them to everyone! Write to us in the Suggestions.

Glen Pattison - Performance Trainer

Over the past year Glen has been training some of our leading Olympic Atheletes including Matt Dunn a 3 time Olympian, Rob Jahling, who in 2000 won Silver in rowing, David Hall, a Paralympian in wheelchair tennis who won Gold in 2000 and Paralympian swimmer Priya Cooper who also won Gold in 2000.

You may have seen Glen and our Olympians on 'A Current Affair' or a number of TV and Radio programs following the Olympics.

Many of the athletes worked with Glen in handling pressure. The pressure to train relentlessly in the 4 years up to the main event. The pressure to be ready for, in some cases, less than a 30 second performance! Sometimes, the thought of giving up is so great as they look forward to the next 4 years of training!

Glen worked with Priya Cooper for 7 months leading up to the Paraolympics. Following a shoulder reconstruction, Priya's poor performance had caused her severe depression. She gave up her training, ate junk food and put on a lot of weight. Glens coaching had helped get her back to form to win Gold in the Paralypics!

We are privileged to have Glen as one of our contributors at WomenInGolf.com.au. Read how you can enhance your performance in Glen's articles in Mind Games
