PHILOSOPHY
Karen believes all golfers are unique, from their motor skill level to their mental attitude. She endeavours to work in collaboration with each of her pupils to meet their goals.
PROFILE
Karen began her golfing career in Victoria where she represented the State between 1975-1979. She represented Australia seven times, including the 1975 Tasman Cup in Auckland NZ, the 1976 Women's World Amateur Teams Championship, in Villamoura, Portugal and the 1979 Commonwealth Tournament, at Lake Karrinyup in Western Australia. The highlight of her amateur career was winning the Australian Amateur Championship at Royal Hobart in 1978.
Having achieved all her goals as an amateur, Karen turned professional in December 1979. She travelled to the United States in 1980 where she played the Women's Professional Golf Tour. In her first year on that Tour she won the Imperial Valley Classic at Barbara Worth Country Club in Holtville, California and finished second on the Tour money list. In 1981, Karen had her most successful year on the Women's Professional Golf Tour winning four events including the Tour's premier event, the Champions Classic, at the Green Hills Country Club, in Millbrae, California. She was the Tour's leading money winner for that year and was awarded Co-Player of the Year.
Karen qualified for the US LPGA Tour in July 1982 at Raveneaux Country Club, in Houston, Texas. Her most successful year was in 1983 when she finished in third place at the Mayflower Classic, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She finished 67th on the Tour money list in that same year and qualified for the Mazda Japan Classic, at the Musashigaoka Golf Course, in Saitamaken Japan.
